Tatiana Simonova

These lithographs are an untitled pair, drawn from photographs of Simonova’s dear friend Naoko. They investigate the quiet in a moment just before a departure. Simonova utilized lithographic crayons to blacken the surface of the stone and razor blades to delicately pull out the details and contours of the figure. In certain places, the start and stop marks of the crayon can be seen in the velvet blackness of the hair.
