The Children's Art Carnival has partnered with the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop to honor the legacies of CAC founder Betty Blayton-Taylor (1937-2016) and Bob Blackburn (1920-2003), founder of the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop. Both were key figures in New York's 1960s Black Arts Movement, helping to establish landmark institutions that advanced the recognition and value of Black artists. Their contributions continue to shape cultural life and support artists and communities today.
