For the past ten years, Bill Carroll has taught a Professional Practice class at Pratt Institute to MFA students titled Navigating the Art World.  The class is an introduction to all aspects of the visual arts community, a very specific tribe. It emphasizes the importance of understanding and respecting all members of this community in order to navigate it successfully.  The world has suddenly, and dramatically, changed and the Art World will be different.  Bill will address what we can expect as we navigate this (New) Art World as an artist, or arts professional.

Bill Carroll has been involved in the New York Art World for over thirty years.  He was the Director of the Charles Cowles Gallery in Soho; and the Elizabeth Harris Gallery in Chelsea. Bill has also worked in non-profit at the Dia Art Foundation, the Brooklyn Museum, and is presently the Director of the EFA Studio Program.  He has curated numerous exhibitions, and has lectured extensively. Bill is also an exhibiting artist, and In January 2019 had his fifth solo exhibition at the Elizabeth Harris Gallery in Chelsea.
