EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop (RBPMW) is proud to host Where We At, Black Women Artists. Now! “Paper Works” an exhibition in partnership with Weeksville Heritage Site, celebrating the legacy and ongoing creativity of the pioneering collective, Where We At, Black Women Artists. Founded in 1971 by Kay Brown, Dindga McCannon, and Faith Ringgold, this group of African American women artists remained active for 25 years, breaking barriers and creating a space for their voices in the art world.
As a vital hub for printmaking and artistic collaboration, EFA RBPMW has long supported the collective’s mission, and this exhibition reaffirms its deep connection with both past and present members. Paper Works will showcase new works on paper by living members of the collective, alongside drawings, prints and paintings on paper, many of which were created at EFA RBPMW throughout the years.
In addition, we will feature a special altar installation honoring the lives and legacies of members who have passed, including the recently transitioned Faith Ringgold. Through this tribute, we commemorate their enduring impact and their contributions to the world of art.
